I have a broken tooth that has decayed some and is now giving me unbearable pain. I feel even feel the pain in my ear. I cannot afford to gog to the dentist till next week. Will they be able to do anything for me if I go to the hospital emergency room? I can’t deal with the pain anymore. I would rather die.

Probably not, to be honest. If anything they’ll give you some Tylenol 3’s or Vicodin and send you home after telling you to follow up with your dentist.

Emergency rooms absolutely do have dentists on call. If you are in horrible pain, don’t hesitate to go to the ER. The least they will do is give you some stronger pain medicine, but they will probably have the on-call dentist come in and pull the tooth. Good luck, tooth pain is the WORST!!!!!

They’ll tell you to call a dentist. You are aware that there are emergency dentists, right? I don’t know any hospital that would treat you without payment now either.
I know it hurts, but hang in there. Use an ice pack on your cheek if you can (I know, it sends you through the roof, doesn’t it), and maybe a little whiskey on the gums. Other than that, I’m lost.

They’ll give you some painkiller and tell you go see a dentist!
