What Is The Likeliness Of Getting A Brain Abscess From An Abscessed Tooth On The Upper Jaw?

I have had one for about two and a half years now, and I have my surgery scheduled for three weeks from now. But I’ve been reading up on all of the different types of infections linked to an abscessed tooth and I must say, it is freaking me the $@#! out..

When I was a kid I had an abcess above my front tooth. It spread pretty fast, within about two weeks I had migraines and two black eyes, it was so horrible!. I surprised you’ve had yours for so long with no spreading……..

If you only have tooth symptoms, and nothing else that seems more serious, I’d say you are probably ok. Have a doctor check you out if you’re that worried. People on Yahoo! can’t really help you out with this.

Brain abcesses do happen, but they are very rare. You are doing the right thing by seeing your dentist and taking care of this.
