COLD… when I went to the ER after a failed root canal, it said on my discharge papers… NO HEAT. I took Advil Liquigels and it was hardly, hardly tolerable. I had to go the ER, the pain was excrutiating. They can start you on antibiotics and give you a stronger pain medication. Get to the dentist ASAP. Dental infections can cause heart problems and you really should try to get to the dentist!!

pain killers, go for a cold compress (to sort of numb the area). and ring up your dentist or his office immediately, because i know that mine and others have a emergency pager sort of thing.
if the pain is really bad and wont stop visit your local hospital – maybe they can give you morphine

Hot or cold compresses is the choice of the patient. I have found when I put a low dose asprin directly on the tooth the pain lessens. my uncle told me about this, He said he did it while in the military. Dont over due it To much could cause you stomach problems & asprin is also a blood thiner.

with my experience i had a toothache and i would hold an ice cube over my tooth and it would eventualy num the pain. i never tried to heat my tooth but think you should try ice. but find a dentist as soon as possible.

First take your recommended dose of ibuprofen to reduce the swelling that is causing the pain. Then 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off with an ice pack.

if your dentist doesn’t have an emergency pager (many do), just get completely drunk until you can get in
    Sorry, that’s the best i got…..

I use extra Strength Ora gel and a hot pack. Try placing an extra strength Tylenol on it if you can tolerate it. This should help when it starts to dissolve. Hope it feels better soon!
