I have an appointment in two days. However, I have intense pain now! The whole side of my face (cheek, ear drum, temple) hurts.Dentist prescribed antibiotic for now. Will this help lessen the pain? Are there any homeopathic remedies someone knows of. All answers are appreciated.

chew on a whole clove…find them in your grocer’s spice section.
Or, ambesol will work too.
either of those will temporarily deaden the nerves around the tooth.
The antibiotics were for an infection….if the infection is deep then it will take about a week to 10 days for the swelling to go down.
I know about tooth pain…..if you can, try some tylenol or acetaminiphen….check with a local walgreens pharmasist for any possible interactions with other meds you may be taking.
OR – I would call your dentist back and tell them what you are going thru and ask them for what they recommend.
Hang in there….it WILL get better!

Antibiotics can take approximately 48 hours before helping. You can take over the counter pain medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. If these don’t help your dentist will need to prescribe a stronger medication.

You can go buy oragel. It works so well. It numbs everything.
