Orajel Swabs… they look like Q-tips, but they are hollow inside with pain medication and you simply break the tip on one end and the medication flows to the swab on the other end and apply to tooth area and it numbs the pain… works great

    Two Anadins.
And on a lighter note, a guy with less than perfect English telephones his doctor.
Sir , me , have bad, bad headache.
The doctor:…Well when I have a really bad headache I sleep with my wife and the pain just vanishes.
    -Thank you, Sir!
    Later, another phone call:
-Sir me followed you advice. Much better now. And Sir! You have such nice house!

Ibuprofen. This will reduce swelling if that’s what is causing the problem.

Go find some clove oil, also known as eugenol. Apply it directly with a Q-tip. And do not put heat on it. If the tooth is abscessing, the heat will help the infection spread more quickly
Also 400 mg ibuprofen (Advil) every 4-6 hours

Motrin/Ibuprofen is the best thing for tooth pain! for an adult In order for it to work quickly and properly you need to take between 600 and 800 mg.’s per dosage.

I was told to soak a pain killer in water for a few seconds, then I was told to rub it on and around the aching area…Told by an Orthodontist, don’t know if it works though, but it’s good to give it a go eh?

Just call your dentist and ask for some pain killers to get you by till your appt., if they are nice maybe they will do that for you.
I have also found that listerine helps sometimes!

Here’s an acupressure trick. Press firmly on the fleshy bit between your thumb and index finger. Hold it tightly for several minutes, and then release when you feel the tooth pain subside. Repeat when it starts hurting again. There’s a nerve centre there that’s routed toward the same nerve message centre involving tooth pain. Doing this will dull the pain so you can at least cope with it until your dentist can solve the problem.
