is there any medical reason to get the crown on a different appointment than the root canal or can they be done the same day during one appointment?

i have a broken tooth on the left side of my face in the top row of my mouth, now i have a rash under my left eye and it itches, it seems to be getting worse… would an infected or abcessed tooth cause this??? please help thanks…..
