I have had a root canal in the tooth for ten years. If it is likely his actions that caused it, what course can I take to get him to take responsibility for treatment since I do not have dental insurance?

It is constantly bleeding and swollen and very sore.
I’m going to the specialist on Nov 9th. It’s do long in between because she’s the only dental surgeon in my region and the only date shes available.
Any advice?
