Root Canal And Getting Rid Of A Tooth Infection?

Is it true that when you have a tooth infection where it has reached the the bone…after doing a root canal the infection can still be on the bone and it is up to your immune system and antibiotics to get rid of it? I thought the root canal would of gotten rid of the infection on the bone too? How does that work? HELP!

root canal is when the nerve in the tooth dies after the nerve is removed the tooth then becomes dead and is filled with special material but it doesnt help an infection thats already reached the bone antibiotics have to be taken and hopefully that will rid the infection in the bone otherwise the tooth may need to be taken out or you will have to see a peridontist
