Someone from the Islands somewhere in the Caribbean told me that they use the head of a clove. They said that is what one of the ingredients in Ambesol is. I’m not sure how to use it though. I am a mailman and heard this at a Chinese restaurant.

Take a shot of whiskey (swish it around in your mouth for a good long time before swallowing). You don’t want to get drunk, but trust me when I tell you that it does calm the pain a bit—it was the only thing that worked for me! I am sorry for you–tooth pain is the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What works for me is eating some ice cream or something cold (doesn’t have to be frozen) and it alleviates it temporarily.
Try to avoid foods that are harder to chew, or high in sugar. It can make it worse at times, as well…
Also, they sell some things at wal-mart, target, Walgreen’s etc. that can be used to alleviate some of the pain, but they don’t always work, and may not be the best thing for your teeth.

Different things work for different people. Here are a few things that I know of that work pretty well:
*You can safely take up to 800 mg of ibuprofen. If the tooth is infected, this will help a lot, because it will reduce swelling and pressure.
*Listerine swished around the sore spot offers temporary relief. A cotton ball dipped in whiskey and packed in by the tooth offers a little bit longer lasting relief.
*Adjust your bite. move your bottom jaw slightly forward or back, and try to keep it that way for a while. Believe it or not, this was one of the most effective methods for me.
The only remedy I do not suggest is placing an aspirin on the tooth. I have not personally tried it, but I watched my boyfriend try this one. Not only is the taste horrible, but he said that it greatly increased the pain before offeringany relief. It also killed some of the skin on his gums. Yuck.
Hope this help a little, and good luck!

You need exactly a doctor’s advice before trying any toothache relief product. He knows best for your problem. However, one pain reliever has been popular nowadays for being effective in killing pain like toothache. It is what they call ReliefMD.
