Is the instrument suppose to be there? They want me to go to a root canal specialist. Is this necessary?

Who started the root canal, the gardener or the local Wal-Mart? You should have gone to a specialist in the first place.

the only dentist who have never separated an instrument in the canal of a tooth are those who have never done a root canal-yes it is necessary, go to the endodontist, no it is not malpractice to have this happen,,,

No, it is not a normal occurrence but can happen in a small percentage of root canals. You should go to the root canal specialist to have the tooth treated.
