I recently had a dental abscess so I went to my dentist on Thursday, who performed a root canal, I was prescribed a small amount of amoxicillin to be taken afterwards. The pain has not subsided however, it’s still constantly there and I’m having to take a fair amount of painkillers each day along with using clove oil to try and stop the pain.
How long should it normally take to heal? Should I go back to the dentist first thing Monday? Any other advice?

I just had one and it is not that bad…
The worst part for me was getting the numbing shot. The whole procedure will take at least an hour.
Have your dad ask for nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and the dentist will do that… It helps you relax.
It hurt for a couple of days afterwards but prescription strength ibuprofen took care of that for me.

for me it took up to a weak. Very painfull. After the first day i went to the pharmacy and told her i was taking too much painkillers and was afraid to over dose. she gave me codein and this really helped, except I was always feeling all tired and sleepy.
