How Long Can I Delay Before Doing Root Canal Procedure?

I work overseas, visited my dentist back home. He checked my teeth and said I needed a root canal done (he filled the tooth) but he didn’t have the time to do it then.
I’m trying to find a good dentist where I am now (Trinidad) but i’m worried that the longer I wait the worse it may become.
Any help?

since he filled it most of he carious lesion has been taken out. the only question is would you be able to tolerate the pain when and if it comes? we cannot predict when and if it will come? it may or may not become painful depending on the your pain threshold and the health condition of your immune system. sometimes it takes years of chronic infection before it really troubles you. but getting it treated soonest would be best.
    good luck.

I needed a root canal done, and it was to expensive, but I could not stand the pain……cheaper to pull it, so the doctor pulled it.
