You do not want the bacteria from a dental infection going through the blood stream and lodging on a compromised heart valve. This can become a very serious condition.

If you have a heart murmur a dentist will undertake any surgical procedure or deal with any infective issues under antibiotic control to prevent increased risk of further heart issues.
