I had a root canal done about 4 years ago and now it’s hurting. The pain is the same pain as when I first discovered I needed a root canal. I’ve been taking advil every time the pain was present. How much would it cost to remove the root canal here in California?

It’s not the root canal that hurt. I had one when I was a teenager but 15 years later I started experiencing pain. Basically the dentist had left a piece of cotton in my tooth prior to sealing it up! A periodontist had to give me gum surgery and she removed the infection but didn’t seal the ends of the nerves properly so I ended up having to see an endodontist who is a root canal/gum surgery specialist. So he removed the infection – again – and properly sealed the nerve endings. It’s an infection around the nerves that is causing you pain. Sometimes it is intermittent. I didn’t necessarily always have pain, sometimes it was just a swelling in the gum in the infected area. But it needs to be dealt with.
I am in Canada and endodontic work was not entirely covered by my work insurance plan. I have no idea what it’d cost in California.
