Could Your Gums Grow Over A Broken Tooth?

this weird problem i got okay so yeah one of my teeth broke out slowly over the process of a year. half of the tooth went first leaving nothing but gum. now all of a sudden the rest of the tooth went bye bye as well. but on the other half that was broken out down to the gum and nothing was there a piece of tooth is there. idk if another one is growing down but it feels more like a broken piece of tooth so if it’s that could my gum grow over it? if so in about how long?

Is this an adult tooth or baby tooth?
It sounds like your tooth broke down due to decay, leaving the root behind. The gum will start to cover over the root, but this takes time and is -not- helpful. The root that’s left is still decaying and may well lead to a painful infection. You should really go to a dentist as soon as possible to have it looked at (and probably extracted, although if you prefer to keep the tooth the dentist could possible insert a post and build the tooth back up with a crown).
The longer you leave it, the more the gum will grow over it – this will make it more difficult to have it removed or root treated.
    All the best!

Yes the gum tissue will often grow over the remaining root of the tooth. But just because this happens doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t worry. Most likely the remaining tooth will become infected and cause pain, swelling, and other problems. The remaining tooth needs to come out.

when the tooth is broken by the gingival area then the gum will try to cover the broken tooth known as gingival polyp but it will not coner it up completely & there will be infection later on. the broken tooth had to be extracted.
