Filed Under (Broken Tooth) by admin

Hiya,
My boyfriend has broken his tooth and is in a lot of pain. We live in London and finding an NHS dentist is hard so he has a private dentist.
At the moment we have no money though so he cannot afford to go there.
Is a broken tooth treated as an emergency? I know there are emergency dental places but obviously we still have to pay – is there anyway he can be treated and we can pay back in installments or the like?
Thanks.

If this is recent put the tooth in cold milk. See the ER docs. If you do this within 6 hours they have a chance of saving the tooth!!
(Happened to an exbf of mine and believe it or not it worked!!)

there should be a phone number in the phone book for your NHS advisory service. They can tell you which dentist will see your boyfriend and advise you of ways to pay, although if he gets treatment under NHS the cost should be minimal.

phone the nhs direct and if hes in pain i think it will be classed as an emergency, and they willtell you where the emercency nhs dentist is near you.

go to your local dental hospital – nhs 24 website will be able to tell you where this is and when it is open. they have to treat you if you are not registered with a dentist
