its one of the teeth in the back not the last but the one before on my lest side. it used to hurt when i chew but i didn’t really care coz other than that my teeth are looking good and i brush my teeth 3times a day, but today i was eating beef jerky and well 1/4 of that tooth broke off, it doesn’t hurt not even when i chew so should i be worried?
I would most definitely go to the dentist ASAP if I were you.
If you dont go see a dentist, then that tooth will get infected, and it will spread around your mouth. This is because of tooth decay, by the way, I forgot to add that. Hope this helps you a little.
Dental fracture can be caused by a number of factors, but the most common explination is due to the weakening of the enamel on the tooth, or by decay, which leads to a fracture line in the tooth- which isn’t noticeable (most of the time) to the naked eye, and will eventually break off.
Remember, decay starts as ‘white spots’ on the teeth, so never rule decay out as a factor. Obviously you’ve got good dental hygine if you brush three times a day, and it could be due to loss of enamel as opposed to decay, but it’s best to get it checked out.
Fractured teeth causes an even greater risk of infection, which can lead to periapical abscesses (root abscess), which can affect more than just your teeth!
Depending on the section of the tooth that broke off, and the reason for it, you may just simply need a ‘cap’ on the tooth.
If it’s due to decay, and has spread within the tooth, root canal therapy may be needed.
Try and see a dentist as soon as possible, but don’t stress out, a dentist can easily fix problems like this
Yes you should go to your dentist whether it hurts or not. It will eventually start to give you trouble and if trouble is something you can avoid, avoid it. Besides, the holidays are coming, you don’t want to not be able to eat during the holidays ![]()
Best Wishes
Yes yes and yes, the same thing happened to me and i found out that it was weak because of decay( Which my dentist never told me about) so i would go see the dentist right away, because if that tooth gets infected, it can spread to the rest of the teeth.
You should not worry about it yet. There are many things like that that happen every day with your teeth. There is a lot of things going on in your mouth and you should see if more breaks off. If more does come off, you should seek immediate medical attention.
Yeah that happened to me in Grade nine. Now there will be a space in between your back teeth and you will feel it when you chew food in your mouth. It is called a cavity
Yes you should..asap. That is something that needs to be looked into before it does become a problem that cannot be fixed.
You’re wasting time asking this? Get to the dentist, right away!
Yes.
